What’s your go-to comfort food?
People ask me, “Hey, what’s your comfort food?” Actually, except for a WordPress writing prompt, I’ve never been asked this question—but if they did, I’d say, “Why pick just one when I can embrace the entire culinary triangle of joy?” You know, the three major food groups: Pizza, Mexican food, and Dagwood-style sandwiches.
I mean, if it’s cheesy, spicy, or stacked taller than my childhood Lego tower, I’m in! 😋

Pizza? It’s basically the duct tape of food. It fixes everything. Heartbreak? Pepperoni. Long day? Extra cheese. Existential crisis? Stuffed crust.
Mexican food? Wrap anything in a tortilla and I will fight a man for it. Nachos, tacos, enchiladas—I don’t discriminate. Bonus points if it requires two hands and a pile of napkins the size of a small pillow.
And then there’s the Dagwood sandwich—the skyscraper of comfort cuisine. If your sandwich doesn’t require structural engineering, are you even trying? Cold cuts, pickles, cheese, more cheese, a mystery condiment I definitely didn’t mean to grab but now somehow works? Yes, please! 🤤
So, the next time life knocks you down, remember the three sacred food groups. Or better yet—stack ’em all together, call it a “Mexi-Pizza-Dagwood”! Okay… yeah, that sounds kinda dumb… so, skip the name and take a glorious nap afterward.
Because therapy is expensive. But carbs? Carbs understand.
