Your Royal Highness

Write about your first name: its meaning, significance, etymology, etc.

The name Brian—commonly misspelled Brain 🧠🤓—is likely derived from the old Celtic word brígh, which means “nobility,” “strength,” or “virtue.” It’s also related to the old Irish word bri, meaning “hill” or “eminence,” further emphasizing the sense of being elevated or exalted.

You shall now refer to me as, “Your Royal Highness!” 😜 I’m currently pricing my golden crown… just saying… 🤷‍♂️

So, while my first name originates from the British Isles, my last name reflects my German heritage—Crock, as in “crocodile” or the saying, “what a crock!”

Originally, the German spelling of my last name was Krack. However, my great-great-grandfather decided to change it to the English spelling—thank goodness—to avoid any association with “butt crack” 😉 and to ensure it was pronounced the same way it was in Germany.

So, as Paul Harvey used to say, “Now, you know the rest of the story!”
