Crock’s Thoughts

Since I’ve been busier than a one-legged waiter at iHop, I’m a little late—more like a lot late—responding to this writing prompt.

If I was in charge of the top secret government holiday invention factory, I would ensure there was one primary holiday—Pizza Beer Day! 🍕🍺

I would sign this holiday into law… okay, with maybe a little help from Congress since they technically run the legislative bill-making machine. Plus, I guess I’d let the President do the honors of signing the bill… I mean, geez… he acts like he’s the commander and chief or something… 😉 but, anyway… Every Friday would be designated, Pizza Beer Day!

You see, when I was a wee little guy, my dad would always bring home pizza after work on Fridays. I mean, what better way to celebrate the weekend commencement than enjoying a plethora of ooey-gooey cheesy magic with pepperoni? And, well… my old man enjoyed beer, too! So, he was happy to pass down his excellent taste buds to me, also.

After all these years, I still carry on the tradition of pizza and beer every Friday night. In fact, I’ll let you in on a little secret… I’m a professional Pizzaologist. Yeah, I know what you’re thinking—cool, huh!? 😜

Soooo… what better way to celebrate my family tradition than by enshrining it into a holiday. I kinda like the idea of getting paid time off, too! Lol!
